About Us

Welcome to the LA Monsters FC, Southern California’s most exciting Not-For-Profit Community soccer club! 

We are a dynamic and forward-looking all volunteer non-profit soccer club focused on boys and girls youth in the LA Harbor Area. We successfully operate over 10 soccer teams in the highest level club leagues in California, a High School Development Academy team, a  Coaches/Men’s team, and our Monsters Juniors program for youth 5 to 10 years old.

We take pride in offering local youth opportunities to play soccer at the highest club level which gives them community supported athletics and college and professional exposure for at least 75% less (Our Goal is Free Soccer) than other local soccer clubs. Our program is successful because we now have local youth being recruited by both the LA Galaxy and LAFC Youth Academies and one player now selected to the US National Selection team.

We also have multiple college scouts recruiting our High School Development Academy players. Monsters FC dates back to the early 2000s, originally known as the San Pedro Monsters FC and run by local soccer guru Paul Butterfield, coming out of the city where our hearts are still located (San Pedro, CA). 

Our sole purpose is to help our local communities by providing exciting high quality yet affordable youth teams while at the same time getting our youth exposure to college recruiters and professional scouts.  In 2020, our Youth teams became reality with all our youth Monsters FC teams registering with the top local leagues including SOCAL (NPL), Coast Soccer League, and the Elite Academy League (EA) for league play. 

By playing in these top leagues, our youth players get as much exposure to college recruiters, professional scouts and the public as possible. Our plan is working because we now have a players recruited by both LA Galaxy and LAFC Academys, as well as players being selected to the US National Selection team. We also have college scouts recruiting our High School Development Academy players. Our soccer program success has led us to consider running other sports programs for local youth includingbut not limited a Monsters Track club with local organizers.
